Shashi Naidoo and Jonathan Boynton-Lee's team won last night's WeChat gaming challenge and won R100 000 for charity.

Last night local celebrities showed off their gaming skills all in the name of charity at MOAD in the Maboneng Precinct, Johannesburg. Actors, musicians, fashion designers, just to name a few, were divided into teams of eight, consisting of five players each. The teams battled it out over a free WeChat app mobile game called GunZ Dash. GunZ Dash is a 2D-animated side-scrolling race game that requires fast fingers. One member from each team got their turn to boost the team’s score. If a team member loses, then they can tag another team member into the ring and carry on increasing the score.

Model Shashi Naidoo and Top Billing presenter Jonathan Boynton-Lee’s team had the highest score and were crowned the night’s champions. The winning team won R100 000 for iSchoolAfrica, an organisation that goes all over the country, providing schools with the latest technology that will help in improving the teaching and learning experience.

We asked some of the celebrities what games they enjoy playing?

Sade Giliberti: Mortal Kombat and Tomb Raider

Zakeeya Patel: Super Mario

Craig Jacobs: Super Mario

Carmel Fisher: Tetris

Boity Thulo: Burnout Revenge (racing game)

Jack Parow: Rugby on his PlayStation Terry Pheto: Hay Day (a farming game)   Check out the photos from the event:
