They may be global superstars, but these Hollywood hotshots are definitely not immune to the cold. The polar vortex that has swept across the States has them buddled up like Eskimos - and they've taken to social media to share their pics.

What is a polar vortex?

The United States is experiencing the lowest temperatures in 20 years – and this is all being caused by a polar vortex.

What exactly is that, you might wonder. A polar vortex is a large pocket of very cold air – the coldest in the Northern hemisphere. It is usually located over the polar region during winter. This large pocket of air was pushed south (over Canada and the US) by a large high pressure system. Typically, the polar vortex never comes as far south as it has now.

The cold temperatures are so uncommon that some polar bears in US zoos have been transferred indoors as protection from the cold.
