Chocolate slices

A great snack to pack for lunch or enjoy with the kids.

Makes: 10 Preparation: 5 min Cooking: 20 min

  • 185 g butter
  • 100 ml sugar
  • 250 ml (1 c) flour
  • 10 ml (2 t) cocoa powder
  • 80 ml (? c) fine coconut
  • 5 ml (1 t) baking powder
  • Sauce
  • 60 ml (¼ c) icing sugar
  • 40 g butter
  • 10 ml (2 t) cocoa
  • 15 ml (1 T) boiling water

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line an 18×20 cm baking pan.

1. Cream the butter and sugar. Add the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Press into the dish and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked. Allow to cool.

2. Sauce: Mix the icing sugar, butter and cocoa. Add just enough boiling water to make a runny paste.

3. Spoon the sauce over the hot cake and allow to slightly cool down. Cut the cake into slices when completely cool.
