In her new music video for the song Try, singer Colbie Caillat takes a stand on beauty.

Initially Colbie’s and a number of other women’s make-up and hair are perfect, as in any music video.  As she sings the chorus, “Take your make-up off/Let your hair down/Take a breath/Look into the mirror at yourself/Don’t you like you?/’Cause I like you” she removes her hairpiece, false eyelashes and make-up. The song is a message about self-acceptance and Colbie points out you don’t have to try so hard to be someone you’re not. Before the video was shot she didn’t try to “improve” her appearance. “Try is the first video I’ve never prepared for. Didn’t go tanning or [go on] diet or [have a] heavy workout . . . and it felt wonderful,” she wrote on Twitter. Watch the video here:
