Coriander yoghurt chops

Zest up your braai chops with this recipe.

Serves 2-4

Preparation time: about 1½ hours

Standing time: 1 hour

Cooking time: about 20 min

2 garlic cloves, crushed

2 cm piece of fresh ginger,

grated

250 ml (1 c) chopped fresh coriander

1 green chilli, chopped

3 ml (generous ½ t) turmeric

10 black peppercorns salt 500 ml (2 c) natural yoghurt 4-6 lamb chops 30 ml (2 t) oil

  1. Purée the garlic, ginger, coriander, chilli, turmeric, peppercorns and salt in a food processor to form a paste.
  2. Mix the paste with the yoghurt. Pour over the lamb chops and marinate for an hour.
  3. Braai the chops over hot coals until just cooked, turning often.
  4. Serve the chops with oven-baked chips and a salad.
