Although they couldn’t wear a wedding dress, two grooms found a wonderful way to incorporate the traditional white gown into their special day.

Deri Rogers (28) and Ben Wood (25), from Wales, invited their ten bridesmaids to dress in white wedding gowns.

"Being a gay wedding we weren't going to have an amazing gown reveal like at other big weddings,” Deri told Wales Online.

'I figured every wedding needs a wedding dress.'

“I figured every wedding needs a wedding dress...so why not 10?" The bridesmaids were free to pick any dress they liked as long as it was white. Instead of picking one dress to fit each bridesmaid, Rogers and Wood let each woman pick her own dress.

“The girls all have huge personalities and so there was terrible competition, dress disasters and fall outs but on the day they all looked fab," said Deri. Because of the high cost of wedding dresses, the bridesmaids took to Ebay to find a frugal, yet stylist option. But the couple's "best man" [woman] Sadie spent £500 (R10 300) on a strapless diamond encrusted wedding dress to stand out from the others.

“You could say the girls stole the limelight but we wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
