Stephanie Tallent and Jason Nese (both 41) married just hours before their baby was born.

When Stephanie, who was eight months pregnant, went for an ultrasound on Fridayshe suddenly went into labour.

The couple, from Texas in the US decided there and then to get married before the baby’s birth. Fortunately the couple had obtained a marriage licence the day before.

Jason fetched it from his car, and also picked up a white dress Stephanie had intended to take to the dry cleaners later that day. A church minister was found and with a few doctors and nurses served as wedding guests.

Shortly after the wedding ceremony Stephanie was prepared for a Caesarian and her baby daughter, Sophia, made her appearance a few hours later.

“We had talked about it [being] important to us to get married before she was born,” Stephanie said later.

The bride and groom agreed that it had been the best day of their lives. Stephanie and Sophia were discharged from hospital on Monday.

We doubt that Stephanie and Jason will be having a honeymoon any time soon.
