The baby is expected to live only a few days.

An Egyptian woman gave birth to a baby boy with only one eye in the middle of his forehead and no nose.

Supervising doctors believe the baby is suffering from 'cyclopia', a very rare malformation that has left him with the appearance of the mythical one-eyed giant Cyclops.

The rare defect, which is more common in animals, occurs when the eye sockets do not form correctly in the womb.

In this case, the condition is reportedly a result of a combination of medicines taken by the mother during pregnancy or from extreme exposure to radiation.

Dr Ahmed Badruddin, who is monitoring the baby’s condition, said the baby has a host of other deformities on his body.

According to the Daily Mail, the baby is only expected to live a few days.
