Jakki Ballan has spent a fortune on her Diet Coke addiction, drinking up to fifty cans and ten litres per day.

A Diet Coke addict has spent nearly £150,000 (R2,744 million) on the fizzy drink.

Jakki Ballan started drinking the cola flavoured beverage when she was just fourteen and at the height of her habit she drank up to fifty cans a day, which adds up to more than three per hour.

The 42-year-old mother-of-five still consumes up to ten litres of Coke a day and suffers from panic attacks if she can't get her hands on a can of her favourite drink.

She's now seeking medical treatment for her problem after suffering hallucinations from the large quantities of sugar and hopes hypnotherapy will help her to get rid of her cravings.
