DJ Fresh will be taking over the morning slot on 5FM from 5 May. The radio jockey’s show will be from 5am to 8am on weekdays. He will be joined by familiar names, Catherine Grenfell (executive producer), Duran Collett (sport), former YFM radio personality Sol Phenduka (traffic) and new talent Carmen Reddy (news). “I have always enjoyed doing morning radio and the move back to AM drive is a great opportunity to create content and entertain in a new space. I am excited about the new additions to my team and guarantee the audience will be part of my journey in every aspect of the show and P.S no prisoners will be taken,” says Fresh.

'No prisoners will be taken'

Fresh used to present the afternoon weekday drive show, The Fresh Drive (between 3pm -7pm ), but that afternoon slot will be taken over by Roger Goode from 4pm to 7pm. Roger has been with 5FM for over ten years. His afternoon show team will include Sias Du Plessis (sport), Vic Naidoo (news) and Thando Thabethe (traffic).

The station is yet to announce who will be taking over the second half of the morning slot which will be from 8am to 10am.

And suspiciously there’s no sign of Fresh Drive news reader Poppy Ntshongwana in the morning line-up. Could this mean she gets her own spot?
