DJ Zinhle wants you to know how she lost her baby weight

Last week, DJ Zinhle had fans in a frenzy after she showed off her super-toned tum in a sexy selfie on Instagram.

Commenters were clamouring for the local muso, who gave birth to her first child Kairo in July last year, to share how she did it. Naturally, Zinhle has obliged with a tell-all post on her blog, Moment's By DJ Zinhle.

"I need to be honest with you, there is no shortcut," the young mom, who is now just 3kg from her "goal weight" revealed. "Anything worth having won’t come easy."

"Great results come from hard and consistent work so I would like to urge you to rid yourself of the idea that there will be a shortcut. Also bear in mind that weight loss and fitness is 20% exercise and 80% diet."

Having said that, Zinhle goes on to explain that setting a goal is key.

"How much weight do you want to lose? Write that down, weigh your self right now and start your journey," she says, adding that keeping a diary to track your journey is a must. "Now that you know what your destination is, set a timeline. How long will it take for you to get there? Be realistic, don’t set unrealistic timelines or you will end up disappointing yourself." When it comes to exercise, the DJ is not fussy - as long as you do it! "I might be wrong but I truly believe that most of the fitness exercise routines you will find on the internet do work, its only your consistency and perseverance which makes the difference."

Zinhle herself is up at 4:30 every morning from Monday to Friday, and in the gym by 5, where she works out for an hour. "This makes me feel like a warrior, I feel like I can take on the world."

Getting up at the crack of dawn is not for everyone, but the mom of one says she "refills her motivation tank" by listening to motivational talks by people like Oprah, Pastor TD Jakes, Robin Sharma and Deepak Chopra.

But working out is only 20% of the battle, the right food is crucial, Z stresses.

"Use the internet to find a balanced eating plan or at least start eating better by not skipping meals and by cutting out those fizzy drinks and unhealthy snacks," she advises.

"Resisting food you like is hard but you need to work on your willpower and eventually, it wont even be an issue resisting unhealthy food."
