Scott Pilgrim (Cera) is a 22-year-old slacker/nerd who plays bass in a garage band. He’s dating a cute high school girl (Wong) who’s straight out of a manga comic and he has a witty gay roommate (Kieran Culkin) who often kicks him out for some alone time with his latest boyfriend.

Then Scott meets Ramona Flowers (Winstead), a sullen, ice-cool chick with pink hair – and his world changes. Ramona has seven evil exes who prevent other guys from dating her and Scott must defeat them all if he wants to win her heart.

This frenetic, visually striking film wears its love for videogames, comics and pop culture on its sleeve. Scenes of Scott doing Mortal Kombat-style battle with various exes – from a psychic vegan to an egotistical action star – are interspersed with hilarious one-liners.

But underpinning all this is a serious message about growing up and taking responsibility for your actions.

Bonus: commentary, deleted scenes, featurettes.
