This is a comic-book movie with a brain, humour and emphasis on character interaction

Sci-fi adventure.

When powermad demigod Loki (Tom Hiddleston) attacks Earth, special agent Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) recruits Loki’s brother, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (CHRIS EVANS), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jnr) and Bruce Banner aka The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) to stop him. Assassins Hawkeye (JEREMY RENNER) and Black Widow (SCARLETT JOHANSSON) also join in.

It’s many comic-book fans’ dream: Marvel’s superheroes teaming up for a blockbuster adventure. But what works on paper doesn’t always translate to film and making a coherent movie about a demigod, a big, green monster, a man in a metal suit and a World War 2 super-soldier is a challenge.

Fortunately Marvel hired director-writer Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, who has a knack for writing sharp dialogue and handling a big ensemble cast as well as thrilling action sequences.

instead of explosions, although there are plenty of those. Fans and newcomers should be entertained and satisfied.
