It’s been confirmed . . .

Fans of the Fifty Shades books will be happy to learn the film version of the second book, Fifty Shades Darker, will hit the silver screen in time for another romantic Valentine’s Day – although not the next one.

Fifty Shades Darker will be in cinemas on 10 February 2017. And more good news is the third instalment is being planned for the year thereafter.

The first movie has already grossed more than R6 billion at the international box office.

The runaway success of the franchise has urged its stars, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, to demand more money, which is why their involvement in the sequels has not yet been confirmed, but they are expected to return.

The director of the first film, Sam Taylor-Johnson, will not return, as she and the series scriptwriter, EL James, are reported to have not seen eye to eye.

EL’s husband, Niall Leonard, will write the script for the second film, but the director still has to be appointed.
