Where do the Ultimate Braai Master-The Roads Less Travelled participants go when they don’t feel like doing the braaiing?

THEY all know how to braai and love braaiing at home – even during the week in summer. But where do the Ultimate Braai Master-The Roads Less Travelled participants go when they don’t feel like doing the braaiing?

Samantha van Niekerk of the Ying Yang team says for a delicious lamb sosatie she goes to Karoo Café in Die Wilgers, Pretoria. “The pieces of meat are chunky and tasty,” she says.

Nomthandazo Sithole of the Sumting Fresh team prefers the braaivleis at Lapeng in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg. The meat is good but it’s the chakalaka that’s her favourite.

Jolene Arries and her Mojo braaimate, Ashok Naidoo, say Panyaza shisa nyama in Soweto is their favourite. When they go there they get a big variety of meats on their plates. “The atmosphere is friendly and the guests diverse,” says Jolene.

Simon Good of the Smoke, Sweat & Tears team says he hears the BBQUES restaurant at the Groot Constantia wine farm is the best place for a braai. But he prefers to do his own braaiing.
