“We wanted to take their insights and stories directly to fellow South Africans, to inspire everyone to share what makes them feel free and amplify the positive sentiment felt across the country on Freedom Day."

“Freedom Day just makes me feel grateful for being in South Africa at this time and the fact that I can wake up and walk out of my house and interact with different people and the fact that I can do what I love and be exposed to different cultures is really something special and as South Africa we need to celebrate that more.”

Janine Jellars, Digital Content Manager

“I believe freedom day is one of our most important holidays in SA. I celebrate all the sacrifices that were made for us to be free every day in all the work that I do. Any time I can celebrate freedom publicly, I always take that opportunity.”

Chad Saaiman, Singer & Song-writer

“As an artist I believe you have to use every opportunity to voice your message and get a message of positivity out there to the people. I feel like we’re living in great time where we can express ourselves with art, with music and with design. That is how I celebrate my freedom.”

Danilo Acquisto, TV & Radio Presenter

“Young South Africans are so alive with possibility. We might not know it now but we are truly free. Anything is possible. We just need to encourage each other and give each other a chance to celebrate our own giftings. That's what this day is about essentially.”
