Fish in Cajun sauce

Fish

salt and freshly ground pepper

2 ml (½ t) turmeric

2 ml (½ t) chilli powder

15 ml (1 T) fresh parsley, chopped

2 sprigs thyme, chopped

2 hake fillets, cubed

Sauce

15 ml (1 T) oil

1 onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, crushed

1 green pepper, chopped

10 ml (2 t) Cajun spice

2 x 400 g (2 cans) chopped tomatoes

1 bay leaf

In a medium bowl, combine salt, pepper, turmeric, chilli powder, fresh parsley and thyme and smear it over the fish, then place in the fridge.

In a sauce pot on medium heat pour the oil and fry the onions, garlic and pepper until the onion is translucent.

Stir in Cajun spice, tomatoes and bay leaf and simmer for 10 minutes.

Put aside the pot, then place the fish in the hot sauce and cover to steam the fish for 10 minutes or till cooked, and serve.
