Get a group togetherFind an events calendar that lists fun places to be and things to see in your area. Look online, or in your community newspaper. Take the initiative and invite friends of your child – and a few parents -- on an outing to see a live band or a cool theatre performance, visit a theme park such as Ratanga Junction or Gold Reef City or go go-karting. Starting a veggie garden This isn’t only for oldies, and the kids can help. Free up a patch of earth in your garden, plant vegetables, bulbs, herbs or gorgeous flowers and watch them grow.  Learn a new language If your teenager has dreams of traveling once they’ve finished with school, this is a great way to spend time with them and learn something new. Buy a book-and-CD package or find out where you can attend classes close to your home. Take up photography You’ll never have a bored moment if you start documenting things around you with your camera or cellphone. Make prints and put them in an album in categories such as family, animals, friends and weird things. Consider bunting. Click here for our article that shows you exactly how to do it.
