This makes buying second-hand all the more interesting!

These days, getting rid of an unwanted object is as easy as posting it on Gumtree. The website is filled with things from motorbikes to muffin trays, but every so often something really juicy pops up.

Queue a scorned lover, who got revenge by posting an advert for the wedding dress of his “adulterous, deceitful, double-crossing and traitorous ‘soulmate’”.

It appears that his former soulmate is no more, as she slept with one of her soon-to-be husband’s closest friends.

The ad is telling, and reveals much about the crushed relationship. “As an added bonus, this dress gives you the “entitlement” to legally obtain over half your husband-to-be’s worldly possessions.”

The Gumtree ad poster certainly has a knack for stirring images, and managed to invoke a Biblical reference to describe his erring former lover. “A one of a kind garment designed by Benedict Arnold, believed to be derived from the very cloth Judas Iscariot himself wore to the Garden of Gethsemane to betray the only son of God – Jesus Christ.”

The dress is listed as ‘used’, and those interested should make an offer. It’s important to note that “Cosmetically, the garment is in better condition than the marriage.”
