The Sports and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula can’t wait for our golden goalie, Itumeleng “Itu” Khune to get well.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery you a real example of triumph against adversity I wish you strength and goodwill,” Fikile wrote on his Instagram.

He says he has no doubt that if Itu wasn't injured he would have been part of the team that was playing against Congo last night in the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 qualifier match on Wednesday evening.

He’s currently nursing an ankle bone injury and has been out of action for weeks now.

Itumeleng was named the 2013 South African Sports Star of the Year.

As a young boy, the Kaizer Chiefs captain has always had big dreams.

The picture of young Itu holding up the Kaizer Chiefs team has been making round on the Internet and social media.

“It all starts with a dream and visualisation!! This kid dreamt he'd captain Kaizer Chiefs (check armband). If you think what I'm saying is nonsense, that kid in the picture is a young Itumeleng Khune,” musician Kabelo Mabalane wrote on his Instagram.

In one of the pictures of his younger self, Itu says: “We dreamed big, we worked hard, and we stayed humble during the process… anything is possible people”.
