It’s nearly Valentine’s Day and we’ve found a few cute ideas on Pinterest which you can recreate in the classroom.

The projects are fun and creative – and kids will enjoy making something to spoil their moms and dads!

Use wool and paper to make these beautifully simple mobiles. Let the class work together – one child can use the cut-out hearts while another uses the left-over paper squares.

Transform inexpensive lollipops into little Valentine’s Day treats and add a personal message. Let the class fold their own wrappers and make a flower or card with a picture from home. Make sure you do the project just before break – they might not be able to wait that long to sample their handiwork!

It couldn’t be easier – all you needs is an empty toilet paper roll and a little paint. Make the heart shape with the empty roll and wrap adhesive tape around the roll to reinforce it. Insert the end in a little red paint and voila!

Ask the class to bring a few empty glass jars to school. They can decorate them with paper doilies, hearts and cellophane and then fill them with sweets. Get as creative as you can in the time available!
