Henri van Breda's attorney responds to rumours he's gone missing.

Reports of Henri van Breda being missing has been dismissed as rumour by his attorney. “As far as I know my client (Henri) is with family members in the Cape and is not being monitored, as is alleged," Pieter Botha tells YOU. "If the police want to speak to my client they can do so at any time." According to recent reports Henri was last seen in Klerksdorp and his movements were constantly being monitored by the police. But on 30 April, The Citizen reported the 20-year-old has disappeared off the radar and that police have launched a major search for him. They’re apparently questioning close friends and family about his whereabouts.

'The police can speak to him at any time'

But there was no official police confirmation on these reports. Captain Frederick van Wyk of the South African Police Services said they refuse to respond to rumours about Henri’s whereabouts.

Henri and his sister, Marli van Breda (16), are the only survivors of the brutal attack on their family in Stellenbosch. Their father, Martin, mother, Teresa, and brother, Rudi (22), were murdered with an axe in the attack.

Marli sustained serious head injuries and was recently released from a rehabilitation centre. She’s staying with friends of the family in Cape Town while she’s recuperating. Henri sustained only scratches to his arms.

No one has yet been arrested in connection with the incident.
