Hot steak sandwich

Serves: 2

15 ml (1 T) flour

300 g sirloin steak, sliced

30 ml (2 T) butter

45 ml (3 T) red wine

1 can (440 g) mild and chunky pasta sauce

1 cinnamon stick

5 ml (1 t) chilli flakes

15 ml (1 T) chutney

salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

1 mini French loaf to serve

green, yellow and red peppers

Sprinkle flour over the meat and set aside.

In a saucepan, heat half the butter until melted, then add the floured meat and sauté until well browned.

Add the leftover butter, pour in the wine and let it cook for 2 minutes.

Stir in the pasta sauce, cinnamon stick, chilli flakes and chutney and simmer for 5 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper and set aside.

Slice pockets in the top of the French loaf and stuff it with the meat, sauce and peppers.
