We caught up with Riaad Moosa & Friends to find out a bit more about them off-stage. Needless to say, keeping a straight face wasn't easy!

Need a good chuckle?

SA funnyman Riaad Moosa and his pals comedic group will be at Emperor's Palace on Saturday 25 March for a night of side-splitting entertainment.

The likes of Jason Goliath, Joey Rasdien, Kagiso Mokgadi, Loyiso Gola, Marc Lottering, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Shimmy Isaacs and Simmi Areff are set to take to the stage, with a special guest appearance by Morgan Beatbox.

As an award-winning comedian, actor, writer and presenter, Riaad Moosa is one of South Africa’s most popular comedians – and he happens to be a qualified medical doctor too. He certainly seems to have the remedy for the nation’s ills – a healthy dose of laughter, straight up – and hold the aspirin. So be sure to get your prescription of laughter with Riaad Moosa & Friends this weekend. But save this night out for the adults – the show is rated PG16.

We caught up with some of the acts to find out a bit more about them off stage -- and needless to say, listening to some of these responses, keeping a straight face didn't come easy!

I first realised I was funny when. . .  umm...I don't think I'm funny. I have very low self-esteem. Even when people laugh at my shows, I think. . . are they laughing with me or at me. . . is my fly open? Do I have a booger in my left nostril?

The person who makes me laugh the most is. . .  nobody. I don't laugh at jokes. I react more like a scientist. I go, "Mmm . . . That was funny."

If I wasn’t a comedian I’d probably be a. . . doctor. I've got a medical degree. There's some overlap. Laughter is the best medicine.

My all-time favourite comedy (movie) is. . .  Material. I was the lead actor in it but I'm not being biased.

My favourite comedian is. . .  everyone besides me on the Riaad Moosa & Friends lineup.
