"The white Audi A4 drove past me so fast, you know the kind of speed that leaves your car shaking.

"And within seconds I saw dust, particles and things flying in the air. I was so shaken."

He stopped his car and approached the scene.

"When we got to him he was still unconscious. It was not a pretty sight. There were bodies on the road, clothes scattered. When the paramedics arrived I recognised Tau [Seiphemo's character].

"I was in tears. It was a horrific scene, it was dark," he said.

Ravhuanzwo told the newspaper he estimated Rapulana had been travelling at over 200km/h in his Audi.

However, authorities have yet to confirm who was driving or how the accident occurred.

The 48-year-old actor's brother-in-law Mduduzi Sikhakhane said the family are also still waiting for more information from the police.

"We are shocked and devastated as a family," Sikhakhane told SABC News. "At this stage we still don't know the nature of his injuries or how severe they are. He [Seiphemo] was heavily sedated and, of course, he could not respond to us. Everybody that needs to be here from within the family is here to give support."

He said that Rapulana is currently in a stable condition.

“He is in a stable condition. He had an operation last night, which went successfully. Today he is in a stable condition and resting. The family is together at the hospital, and we are all hopeful.”

Meanwhile, DestinyConnect reports that another of the men involved in the crash has died.

Jerry Coertze (28) died in hospital this morning, family member Christelle Tosoni said.

His stepmother said the family wants answers from the police.
