Vin Diesel has named his newborn daughter after Paul Walker.

The 47-year-old actor and his longtime girlfriend Paloma Jiménez became parents for a third time after welcoming another little girl earlier this month, who joins their daughter Hania and son Vincent.

And now Vin has revealed the tot is named Pauline, after his late pal Paul who starred with him in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Paul died in a car crash in 2013, but has been on Vin's mind ever since.

“I named her Pauline,” Vin said on The Today Show, revealing his daughter's moniker. “He [Paul] was in the room. There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just... knew he was there... It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world.”

The birth was announced via Facebook last Monday, where Vin posted a photo of himself and his baby captioned with lyrics from Louis Armstrong’s iconic song What a Wonderful World.

“I hear babies crying, I watch them grow. They'll learn much more, Than I'll ever know. And I think to myself, What a wonderful world… (sic),” he wrote.

The actor evidently still holds Paul close to his heart. Vin choked up while introducing the latest instalment Furious 7 - in which the late star makes his final onscreen appearance - at a recent midnight screening.

He arrived at the SXSW film festival in Austin straight from the birth of Pauline to pay tribute to his former colleague and pal.

"This was a labour of love. It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real," Vin told the audience. "When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother."
