After shaving every day for 26 years, Rose Geil has decided enough is enough.

She's battled unwanted hair on her face since she was 13 years old. Now after shaving every day for 26 years Rose Geil has decided enough is enough. Now she’s wearing her beard with pride. The 39-year-old woman from the state of Oregon in America, said in an interview with Barcroft Media she’d always declined to sleep over at friends because she was too embarrassed by the stubble that would be on her face the next morning. She used to get up very early every morning to shave.

“It was exhausting trying to keep it hidden,” she said.

Before she decided to stop shaving four months ago she’d tried everything to permanently get rid of her beard. She even went for expensive laser treatments but her beard always grew back. “I was emotionally drained from trying to hide my beard every day and feeling I was failing miserably.”

In her twenties it was difficult for Rose to explain to romantic interests that she was living with a hairy situation. Now she’s an example of self-confidence. “Growing my beard has made me more confident. I feel pretty with my beard, and I never felt pretty before.”

The teenager who used to wear rollneck tops and long sleeves to hide her hair problem has become a self-assured woman with a lush beard.

“I definitely feel womanly, sexy and sensuous. I feel more feminine and it has very little to do with my appearance. It comes from my attitude and giving myself the freedom to be who I am.

“I’ve finally accepted the real me.”
