Jamie Dornan: Acting is my remedy

Jamie Dornan sees his job as "self-therapy".

The actor has taken on some risky characters recently, including kinky businessman Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

He also played serial killer Paul Spector in TV show The Fall and admits there's something oddly liberating about channelling such dark minds. "That's what's great fun about choosing this profession," he smiled to Time Out London magazine.

'The physical side of it, the nakedness, that was still hard'

"You find out a lot about yourself. On every project you find out something different about yourself. It's like self-therapy, in a mad way."

The 32-year-old star acts opposite Dakota Johnson as Christian's submissive lover Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades. While fans can't wait to check out the raunchy sex scenes, it's all in a day's work for Jamie and 25-year-old Dakota.

"There's no other way to approach it [than] just accepting that you're doing intimate things with lots of people you don't know well in the room with you," he shrugged.

"The physical side of it, the nakedness, that was still hard."

Jamie started out as a model and admits he always avoided getting his kit off while in that job. He also claims never to have seen a topless picture of himself that he thinks looks good.

"I'm never entirely comfortable with [nudity], although Google images would probably deny that fact!" he laughed.

Fifty Shades of Grey is due out on Friday February 13, just in time for Valentine's Day.
