Eternally glamorous star Dame Joan Collins thinks women don't wear enough make-up when attending parties and black-tie events.

The 82-year-old has strong opinions on how women should present themselves, declaring ladies shouldn't hold back on lipstick, mascara and eyeliner when going out.

"(Women) don't wear enough makeup," she told Britain's Grazia magazine. "They really don't."

Dame Joan adds that she is not a fan of the natural makeup look, and thinks it's only appropriate when you're a child of eight.

"I don't go in for the 'less is more' look particularly. I've always been very, very dedicated to looking as good as I possibly can, no matter what."

The Dynasty star, who picked up her beauty skills when she moved from Britain to Hollywood aged 19, also spoke about her number one rule for red carpet dressing.

"(A gown) has to be comfortable. I don't like to be too trussed up," she laughed.

Joan, who has been married five times, also has her own cosmetics line called Timeless Beauty.

All of the 13 lipstick hues in the collection are named after characters she has played in her acting career.

"I hope everyone likes them, because I love them and I think that people will really enjoy it," Joan beamed to Cover Media of the line. "And is something that is very meaningful for me.

"The whole process has been very exciting."

Joan's personal favourite product to use is Paparazzi Ready, a lipstick and powder compact.
