Julianne Moore sparkled as the Golden Globes' leading lady last night.

The actress' turn in Still Alice bagged her the prize for best actress in a drama at the ceremony in Los Angeles.

But it wasn't just her acting skills that had people talking - the 54-year-old turned plenty of heads in this gorgeous silver Givenchy gown. The metallic top bled down into a darker, fringed fishtail finish and her Golden Globe statuette made the perfect accessory.

It seems silver was the colour of the day, as Dakota Johnson also picked it for the occasion. The Fifty Shades of Grey star went for sparkling Chanel Couture with sequins covering the entire dress. A strapless bodice gave way to a floor-length skirt with a daring thigh-high split.

Kate Beckinsale also got the memo, turning up in a silver gown by Elie Saab. Her take on the trend featured a sparkling top with a plunging neckline and a ruched floor-length skirt.

Gwyneth Paltrow also decided to go with the low V-neck at last night's ceremony. The actress was tasked with presenting Eddie Redmayne with his award for best actor in a drama for his part as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

Gwyneth stood out on stage with her bright pink Michael Kors dress that showed a generous amount of cleavage.

Amy Adams was also celebrating last night, as she picked up the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy or musical for her part in Big Eyes. The star wore a pastel blue Versace dress with a one-shoulder design and flattering ruching around her bust and waist.

Jennifer Aniston may have missed out on a prize for her part in drama Cake, but she did win people over with her choice of dress. The former Friends star wore custom Saint Laurent with a sequinned black halter top and a long skirt with a thigh-high split.
