June Steenkamp is set to open up on her daughter's life and death an "unflinching" memoir about Reeva, publishing website Bookseller reports. Reeva, A Mother’s Story, June will tell “the full story behind the most dramatic trial of the 21st century”. “In this painfully honest and unflinching account of Reeva’s life," the description for the book reads, "June will talk about what really went on in her mind as she sat in the packed Pretoria court room day after day and how she is coping in the aftermath of the verdict.  Reeva, A Mother’s Story is the only true insider’s account of this tragic story.”

'This book is my way of making sure she will not be forgotten'

In a statement, June said called her daughter, who was slain by her paralympian boyfriend Oscar Pistorius on Valentines' Day last year, a "beautiful and intelligent woman".

"She was always so much more than just someone’s girlfriend. She devoted her life to helping people around her and she believed passionately in human rights. She was set to make her mark on the world. That opportunity was taken from her."

“This book is my way of making sure she will not be forgotten. I have to do the best for her now that she has gone.”

The site reports the book will be released on November 10, and June will be in the UK for publication.
