The Duchess of Cambridge ditched her respectable A-line skirts for tight Zara jeans and swopped her court shoes for loafers as she and Prince William set out on safari in Kaziranga National Park in Assam, India.

Kate (34) seemed thoroughly excited as she beamed atop a shiny green Jeep in the park in northeast India. The region is famous for its lush jungles and sprawling tea plantations, MailOnline reports.

The grinning mom of two squeezed William’s thigh and said, “We’re all safe", before they set off in the early morning, according to The Mirror.

As part of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's whirlwind tour of India and Bhutan the royals visited the World Heritage Site and a wildlife conservation area to highlight the work being done to preserve the country's natural habitat.

On their drive, the couple spotted rhino, water buffalo, swamp deer and a number of bird species, according to Kensington Palace's official Instagram account.

Will (33) fit right in on the back of the 4x4 in with his dusty chinos, khaki shirt and brown lace-up shoes.

Kate donned a a pair of dark skinny biker jeans by Zara, her trusty Sebago boat shoes and a white RM Williams button-up blouse for the occasion. She wore her sunglasses for much of the trip, and an animal-patterned white scarf that had been presented to her and Will by their hosts at the outset of their visit.

"She hadn't bothered to blow-dry her hair and half tied it back," the Daily Mail writes – but we think Kate looks as lovely as ever.

How could the mom of two be expected to keep her hair perfectly coiffed on the back of a bakkie for a dusty game drive in the jungle, anyway?

Currently on day four of their week-long tour, the bluebloods are booked for a whopping 22 engagements in just seven days.
