The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on "top form" as they await the arrival of their baby at Kate's parent's home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on "top form" as they await the arrival of their baby.

The royal couple ? who are expected to welcome their first child into the world by the end of the week ? took some time away from Kensington Palace in London on Tuesday night to enjoy some quality time together at the Duchess' family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

A royal source told the Express, "They are just enjoying spending some private time together. They are very relaxed. They are calm. They are both really on top form."

The pair are said to be dividing their time between both residences until Kate goes into labour, where she'll be escorted to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.

The newborn will spend the first six weeks of his or her life with Kate at her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton's Georgian manor in Berkshire, southeast England, because the duchess has previously said she will feel "safest and most secure" at her parents' home.
