The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly fired her hairstylist, James Pryce, following an eight-year relationship, after he allegedly posted pictures of the royal online to promote his own salon business.

The Duchess of Cambridge was reportedly betrayed by her hairstylist.

James Pryce ? who famously styled Kate's tresses on her wedding day ? had been styling her hair at the Rich Ward salon in London for eight years, but has allegedly been "pushed out" after posting pictures of the royal online to promote his own business.

James attempted to raise his profile after he styled Kate's locks during her 2011 tour of North America with Prince William, but his actions reportedly saw him fall out of favour with the duchess.

A source told The Telegraph newspaper, "When he went solo and tried to tour around the USA, he launched a Facebook page and Twitter account which featured hundreds of pictures of Kate and her various hairstyles to promote his business ? obviously, that did not go down too well with the palace at all."

The photos have been deleted since, but the insider claims Kate still keeps a team of stylists to look after her mane in James' absence.

The source added, "Richard Ward still cuts Kate's hair and she has her colour done at the salon. Plus, she has her stylist, Amanda Cook Tucker, who blow-dries her hair for events, but James has really been pushed out."
