The girls’ parents are believed the have been arrested in the early afternoon on 11 July and taken to Roodepoort Police Station.

According to the Roodepoort Record, the mother claims police did not offer to call their family or friends to fetch the girls. Instead, officers on duty locked them up with criminals, she alleges.
