The youngster has made a miraculous recovery after she drove an ATV into a pond on her mother and stepdad Jamie Watson's Kentwood, Louisiana property.

She was trapped under water for a few minutes by the vehicle's seatbelt and safety netting, before being freed by emergency staff and airlifted to the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans where she remained in a critical but stable condition for several days. After two days she regained consciousness and despite the severity of the accident, showed no signs of neurological damage.

When she woke up, they said that it was obvious that she recognized them all,” a friend of Maddie’s father Casey Aldridge revealed.
