It was the very first time she had voted!

Elize Stoop of Centurion, Gauteng, says she specifically wanted to vote for Bobby van Jaarsveld, who was nominated in the YOU Spectacular awards for the first time this year.

“I then decided to vote in all the categories as well, because somewhere one of them just might need my vote to be a winner! They all work so hard to entertain us in this country.”

But she’d long forgotten about the awards, which took place in July, when the call came from the YOU offices to tell her she’d won a Suzuki Ciaz.

“I never even thought that I might win the car. So you can imagine the surprise and shock when YOU phoned me.”

And though she’d been very excited to hear it, it wasn’t until she saw the car in front of her this week that it really sank in.

“Where do I start to say thank you? This morning I sat in my very own car in my pyjamas and just let it all sink in. To win a car... and not just a car, a Suzuki Ciaz!

"This is a gift that one does not ‘deserve’. For me personally it was a gift from God. My sincere thank you to YOU and Suzuki SA. I will never ever forget this day!”

Elize says she helps with the Hannah Grobler Foundation, collecting food parcels for the underprivileged.

Later this month she was planning to drive to Rustenburg to collect a batch of parcels. “I didn’t know how I was going to do it, because the car I had is tiny and all the parcels would never have fit into it. But now I can go!”

It was the first time Elize had voted! Elize is over the moon about her new wheels!

“Suzuki is proud to support the people that support the South African music and entertainment industry. We wish Elize many happy kilometres in her new car!” said Megan MacDonald, Assistant Marketing and PR manager for Suzuki Auto South Africa.
