Magazines in your pocket

Imagine having a magazine tailored-made for you – featuring only what you’re interested in, constantly adapting to show you more of what you like.

That’s exactly what MyEdit does. The pin board-style app allows you to select categories you want to see more of from SA’s most popular magazines, newspapers and blogs, including YOU. Articles are also pulled from the likes of Fairlady, Move!, True Love and Men’s Health, to name a few.

The free app became available both on iOS and Android devices this week, so you can read your favourite magazines on your phone and your tablet.

Best of all is that the app is constantly adapting to show you more of what you click on more often, rather than just showing you content from the categories you selected.

“The experience becomes even more personalised when the user reads, likes, dislikes, shares or comments on the articles,” says Daniël Malherbe, head of business innovation for Media24 Magazines: Digital, who helped bring the app to life.

“Simply put, the more you use MyEdit the smarter it becomes at showing you stories that would interest you.”

Want to get the app? Here’s our 7-step guide:

1. On your smartphone or tablet, use your browser to go to myedit.me.

2. Click on the “download” link. You’ll be taken to your device’s app store.

3. When you open the app for the first time, you’ll need to create a new account.

4. Select your preferred language.

5. Select your favourite categories – this helps determine what content you’ll see.

6. Wait for your content to load.

7. Start browsing!
