Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba’s wife Norma raised eyebrows with an interview that aired on eNCA on Sunday – but it looks like someone's feathers were particularly ruffled.

Socialite Buhle Mkhize, who had a relationship with Malusi -- and a very public Instagram battle with his wife last year -- appears to have taken to Twitter to share her feelings on the interview.

In case you missed it, Noma, known as Mrs Gigabyte said several things that had plenty of folks open-mouthed. “When Malusi met me I was my own woman. I had my own job, my own place in Bryanston and my own car,” said Noma, who describes herself as an IT specialist.

Naturally, her conversation with eNCA host Ayanda-Allie Paine turned to talk of Malusi's betrayal, and her spat with Buhle.

"If you decide to go into the water, don't drag me into the water," she said. "Just drink alone, or drown alone. When you were having fun, you didn't contact me then, so I responded to those messages in that way. So they were screengrabbed and sent to the media. People were saying 'How can she say this as a minister's wife?'"

Apparently, her comments didn't sit well with Buhle. A Twitter account, allegedly belonging to Buhle has been firing off tweets at the rate of knots since yesterday afternoon, stirring up a social media storm.

The account was started this month, but already has a whopping 18 000 followers.

She even made "slides" so "no one twists my words."

'Buhle' also appeared the threaten her former lover.

"Stop her from ever bringing this up again or they'll hear about December 18," she posted. "You know me and documenting, I don't slip @mgigaba??." Yikes! Here's a sample of the plethora of posts:
