The Frenchman filmed himself taking on the house, during which he attacks the shower with the weapon, smashes holes in a wall and puts his middle fingers up to the camera.

The clip has attracted more than 500 000 views on YouTube and some users have praised him for his actions, calling him a "hero".

However, other YouTube users weren’t so generous.

One wrote, "It's actually a criminal offense to cause malicious damage to a rental property. You taking your landlord to court over 2,000 may not be worth it, but with this video it will be easy for them to keep your 2k and have you pay for all other damages. Just FYI?. [sic]"
