Masala mussels

This fragrantly spiced dish is simple and quick to prepare. Serve it with crusty bread to mop up the delicious sauce.

Serves 4 Cooking: 15 min Preparation: 5 min

50 g butter

1 onion, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

1 green chilli, chopped

5 ml (1 t) turmeric

10 ml (2 t) cumin seeds

10 ml (2 t) garam masala

400 g mussels

250 ml (1 c) cream

salt and pepper

1 Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the onion until translucent.

2 Add the green pepper, chilli, turmeric, cumin and masala and cook for 5 minutes.

3 Add the mussels and cream. Simmer for 5 minutes and season with salt and pepper. Serve with crusty bread.
