Four weeks after their birth, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco have given the world a glimpse of the heir to the throne and his sister.

The crowd roared as the couple stepped out onto the palace balcony this morning, each cradling one of the newborn twins in their arms. Charlene couldn't stop kissing little Jacques, while Albert was ever the proud papa as he rocked his baby girl.

More than 3 000 people crowded below the balcony for their first sighting of the twins, and a public holiday was declared in honour of the occasion. Two weeks ago, former SA swimmer Charlene and Albert released more formal pictures of Jacques and Gabriella on the royals official Facebook page.

Prince Jacques Honoré Rainier and Princess Gabriella Thérèse Marie were born by caesarean section at the Princess Grace Hospital on December 10 last year. This is Charlene's (36) first public appearance since their birth.
