Sir Mick Jagger's granddaughter Assisi has given birth to her first child, a baby girl.

Sir Mick Jagger has become a great-grandfather for the first time. The 70-year-old Rolling Stones rocker's granddaughter Assisi Jackson and her boyfriend Alex Key welcomed a daughter into the world over the weekend, HELLO! reports. The new arrival - whose name has not yet been announced - is the first grandchild for Assisi's mother Jade (42) who is due to give birth to a baby boy next month.

'He said, 'Well done,' and I said, 'I didn't have to try too hard'

Assisi (21) previously admitted her grandfather was delighted she was expecting a baby.

She said: "He said, 'Well done,' and I said, 'I didn't have to try too hard.' "

However, she admitted the Paint it Black star - who was left devastated in March by the suicide of his long-term girlfriend L'Wren Scott - was unlikely to be calling himself great-grandad.

She said: "I imagine it's nice to be a great-grandad - although I'm not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one. I call him Mick - I wouldn't start calling him Grandpa."

Despite her young age, Assisi insisted the time was right for her to have a baby.

She said: "I grew up quite quickly and wouldn't have considered having a child if I was doing what my friends are doing at this stage, messing around. I don't drink, I don't smoke and I'm very settled."
