She cannot understand why the internet is freaking out.

A mother used her breast milk to make brownies for her child’s bake sale at school – and she cannot understand why the internet is freaking out.

The unknown woman took to Facebook to seek explanations from people after another mother was outraged when she found out about the woman’s unusually-made chocolate squares.

Her post was shared by Sanctimommy, a popular page that discusses all things mommy-related, with the caption, ‘I shall forever remember today as the day I stopped supporting bake sales’.

“I need some advice,” the woman, whose identity was hidden by the Facebook page, started her post.

“I made brownies for my school bake sale that had breast milk in them.”

Her reason for resorting to such disturbing baking methods?

“I didn’t have time to run to the grocery store and didn’t think it was a big deal (some of the kids could use the nutrition, let’s be honest). And it wasn’t even that much.

“One of the other moms found out and is blowing it way out of proportion. Idk (I don’t know) what to do! Any suggestions?”

The post received a flood of reactions.

And – as you would imagine – people were utterly grossed out and horrified at the woman’s brownie revelation.

“Honestly, this is actually a damn near criminal offense!” one angry commentator wrote.

“Breast milk, like blood or semen, can carry diseases, which is why donation services screen the milk before passing it along to moms and their babies.”

While another noted the serious health issues that such negligence could cause: “A family member works in an ER. A baby came in with altered mental status and they learned that the baby was being breast fed while the mom was doing meth. THIS is why other moms are ‘blowing it out of proportion’.”

Others were quick to hit back at the mother with sarcastic jabs.

The post had more than 2600 reactions and close to 1100 comments.

We’re going to take a wild guess and say few to no comments stood in agreement with the generous mother.
