It tastes like candy canes, six-year-old Aminah Al Musa says.

The daughter of Maha Al Musa (52) from Byron Bay, Australia, is regularly breastfed by her mother, and says it's her "favourite thing to do when she's not at school." "More kids should because it's good for you." Aminah told Woman's Day she enjoys “sleeping and sucking” Mummy’s breasts so much she could see herself carrying on for years to come.

“I might stop when I’m eight,” she added after a pause, the magazine reports.

Mother-of-three Maha regularly posts photos of her breastfeeding Aminah on Facebook - even though all the attention has caused quite a stir.

"All in all I am happy with the backlash and forward thinking of sharing my story of natural term and older children breastfeeding," she wrote on Facebook.

"The subject has been brought to light and people are thinking about it - makes me very happy - rather than being hidden and silenced under a breastfeeding cover suffocating baby and sending a message of shame we are facing some realities...."

Maha is the star of a new Discovery Channel show, Extreme Breastfeeding.

"Most adults have not weaned," she says in defence of extended breastfeeding, which she likes to call ‘continual breastfeeding’. "Many around the globe are drinking the milk of another species and have the ludicrous argument that breastfeeding a child HUMAN milk for a human is wrong!"
