What’s it about?

A ballerina lands the lead role in Swan Lake –   then her character’s evil twin sister starts messing with her head.

Who will enjoy it?

Not just lovers of ballet but any movie fan who enjoys dark, intense psychological dramas in which nothing is as it seems.

Darren Aronofsky is the perfect director for this disturbing film about a young woman who slowly loses  her grip on

reality.

The ballerina’s tortured alter ego is portrayed through a terrifying dance of death and graceful ballet, and her horrific journey into the dark depths of the subconscious is brought to life with masterful control by Aronofsky. One of the year’s best – and scariest – films.

Wait for DVD?

No. Much of the action happens on a stage and to appreciate the cinematography you have to see this a big screen.

The camera captures the exuberant and sometimes possessed moves of the dancers and Mila Kunis delivers a tour de force performance as the woman who seems bent on stealing the heroine’s limelight.

A mind-bending and beautifully filmed thriller. Oscars await.
