What’s it about?

The world’s clumsiest, geekiest, most testosterone-less James Bond-wannabe is back. This time he must prevent an assassination attempt on a Chinese political leader.

Who will enjoy it?

Slapstick enthusiasts who think someone slipping on a banana peel is the funniest thing ever.

Rowan Atkinson is the kind of funnyman who merely has to raise his eyebrows to make fans laugh. He’s turned slapstick into an art form.

This movie is loaded with improbable terror attacks, car chases to give F1 drivers nightmares and one-liners that will knock you for a six.

The movie starts off shakily but you quickly get used to English’s clumsy methods and hit-and-miss techniques. He saves the planet despite himself, if not from himself. This is one of those cool comedies with a hero that reminds you of a mall with wide open doors and no shoppers.

So if you’ve had enough of bad news, get a huge box of popcorn, get comfy and laugh yourself silly at this nerd’s antics as he turns even the smallest incident into chaos. Not for those who prefer more sophisticated humour but you might find yourself laughing despite your best efforts not to.

You have to be in the right mood for this sort of thing but if you are, surrender to Atkinson’s rubber face and loose-limbed antics.
