Naas Botha's estate was provisionally sequestrated in the Pretoria High Court on Thursday.

Naas Botha's estate was provisionally sequestrated in the Pretoria High Court on Thursday, reports the Cape Times.

According to reports, the rugby legend, whose full name is Hendrik Egnatius Botha, owes more than R1.1 million on a mortgage on a property in Mooikloof in the east of Pretoria.

The former Springbok has not opposed the sequestration and did not appear in court although the documents were delivered to him by the sheriff.

Judge Peter Mabuse gave him until 15 June to oppose the application.

Naas' wife, Karin, took out a Nedbank mortgage on the property in January 2006 and Naas signed surety for it.

Neither Nass nor Karin responded to YOU's request for comment.
