Olivia Munn says she is “still completely evolving” when it comes to her career.

Olivia Munn says she is “still completely evolving” when it comes to her career. The 34-year-old actress has starred in films such as Magic Mike and Iron Man 2, as well as TV shows including HBO’s The Newsroom. But Olivia says her role choices to date have been so varied that she considers her resume “Thanksgiving leftovers”. “There are people who know exactly where they want to go, or they know exactly what they want to do,” Olivia told the New York Post’s Alexa magazine. “I don’t. I’m still completely evolving.”

'What I wanted last year is not the same as what I want this year'

“Nothing makes sense. My career is like Thanksgiving leftovers.”

While Olivia has achieved critical acclaim thanks to her role as Sloan Sabbith in The Newsroom, the show comes to an end this year after three seasons. And Olivia admits in the interview that she doesn’t know what direction her career is set to go in next.

“I kind of have a game plan but I never say my goals out loud,” Olivia said. “What I wanted last year is not the same as what I want this year. Life is always changing and moving.”

Olivia grew up as part of a military family after her mother married her stepfather, a member of the United States Air Force, when she was two. And Olivia adds that her upbringing has contributed to the way she looks at life now.

“There is a different sentimentality about things,” she said. “We’re just like, ‘You gotta toughen up and keep going and move through life. You gotta keep moving.’ So I’m staying prepared... and just being ready for any opportunity that comes up.”
