Onion gravy and sausages

This yummy gravy will become your go-to

Serves 6 Preparation: 10 min Cooking: 35 min

ONION GRAVY

  • 6 red onions, sliced
  • 15 ml (1 T) flour
  • 30 ml (2 T) brown sugar
  • 30 ml (2 T) Balsamic vinegar
  • 500 ml (2 c) beef stock
  • salt & pepper

SAUSAGES

  • 30 ml (2 T) olive oil
  • 10 pork sausages
  • Bread to serve

1 Onion gravy Fry the onions in a large frying pan over medium heat until they soften and become sweet and creamy.

2 Add the flour and stir to coat the onions then add the sugar, Balsamic vinegar and stock. Allow to simmer gently for 20 minutes then season.

3 Sausages Place a pan over medium heat, add the olive oil and brown the sausages for 10 minutes or until cooked.

4 Serve the sausages and onion gravy on slices of bread.
